What is "Resiliency"?

The truth about resiliency, is there is no common definition. Here at Kitsap Strong - and in the spirit of The Science of Hope - we know resiliency to be more than just “bouncing back”. It’s about every individual being capable of thriving through their trauma with accessibility to equitable resources and a supportive community.

Kitsap Strong's Annual Resiliency Summit

October 24th, 2026 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM PST | Suquamish House of Awakened Culture

The Resiliency Summit is a hope-filled experience in connecting, learning, and growing together to strengthen our community!

Resiliency isn't about rugged independence, it is about interdependence, inclusion, empathy, and the vulnerability necessary to form healing relationships.

Reconnecting with Our Village

Creating experiences in the Suquamish House of Awakened Culture that connect us back to caring for one another, restoring a village where we all have the opportunity to contribute and flourish. A family-friendly space for neighbors in Kitsap and North Mason to share something of their own story and village, learn something about someone else, and notice common threads while honoring the histories and cultures that make each community distinct.
